Greetings ladies!
We are transitioning into the month of September and we are doing something new!
Each week in September, one of our Call Leads will dissect and help us interpret one of the book of the Prophets.
This week, we are discussing the book of Jonah. This book is about a rebellious prophet who tried to reject God's words about preaching against the evil in Nineveh, because God loved his enemies. To reference Jonah's other appearance in the Bible, he was a prophet in 2 Kings under the leadership of King Jeroboam the 2nd.
Jonah was not your typical prophet. He wasn't processed enough in his character. He was mad at God for loving his enemies and that really bothered Jonah. But when Jonah got himself together and decide to prophesy to the people, all humbled themselves under the sound of his voice! And they repented. the Bible said that even the cows repented (humor).
This book can remind us that God chooses who He wants to chose to do an assignment. I believe that it is so important to be processed in having character so that it doesn't backfire and cause chaos in the Body of Christ. When one isn't processed enough according to God's standards, and they are in leadership, their actions may hurt others. Jonah already operated in rebellion by running as faraway possible in the opposite direction of the town that God told him to go to, Nineveh. That caused his assignment to be delayed and the people to hear the true authentic word from God!
Have you ever been in that place of rebellion with God? Have you wrestled with the decision to finally move forward in being who God called you to be as a godly wife, godly mother, and/or godly woman disciple? Have you spent time with God enough to allow Him to process your character? All of these things I have dealt with and it took 7 years for God to process me in my character and God used my marriage to do it...
